Alright boys and girls I'm getting ready to buy a laptop computer. I don't game, I don't do a lot of photo editing or anything real wild. I am going to be starting school in January and that's why I want a laptop - portability. So, give me some suggestions of what computer I need and why. I also want exact specifications on them. There's just so many choices...I know I want Office on it, but I also know that's available on a Macbook. So yeah. Bring it on!!!

Sorry Carrie, not much help here. My husband is the computer geek of the family. We did get a PC when we recently replaced our computer, mostly because it was compatible with all of our software. I know that my husband did think pretty seriously about a Mac but went with the PC because our existing software would have been to expensive to replace. He also WAY out of his way to avoid a PC with Vista on it...
Those that started out with Mac swear by it and would not use anything else. I am a PC person myself. And I did hear that you need to stay away from Vista. One of my students had it on her laptop and when she did her presentation her powerpoint was not compatible with the learning station computer which has XP...therefore she was unable to complete her assignment ;( BTW...were the person who asked how I did those kaleidescope photos??? If

I would really like a mac but I don't think I want to spend the money on it...
